Since The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power premiered on Amazon Prime Video, the desire to dive back into a cozy, magical world like the one J.R.R. Tolkien’s created has been high.
The idyllic series was filmed in New Zealand, with plans to film in London for its second season. It serves as a prequel to the movies (and books), set thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It follows the forging of the 20 rings of power (three for the elven kings, seven for the dwarf lords, nine for mortal men, and one for the Dark Lord).
But forging those rings takes a lot of power, which is accompanied by corruption, threatening the peaceful state of Middle Earth.
The cast is jam-packed, following the stories of a whopping 22 characters, including Morfydd Clark playing a young Galadriel, Nazanin Boniadi playing Bronwyn, Robert Amayao as Elrond, Benjamin Walker as High King Gil-galad, Peter Mullan as King Duran III, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Queen Regent Míriel—to name a few.
