Everything You Need To Know About The Endgame Series

The last book in the Endgame series, RULES OF THE GAME, is almost here and you might be a little bit scared because there’s a lot going on––12 main characters from all over the world, 3 hidden keys that unlock a new stage in the game, some alien-like beings, the threat of a meteor destroying earth as we know it––but have no fear.
We have officially taken the time to break down the world of Endgame for you. And it’s so worth it because the action, suspense, and fight for survival are so hardcore and amazing in this series that you’ll definitely want it to be your next binge read.
Ok here you go…

What is Endgame?

A fair question. It’s a competition for survival between twelve Lines of humanity, orchestrated by extra-terrestrial beings, and played by one member of each line. Players must find three keys: Earth Key, Sky Key and Sun Key, and bring them to the extra-terrestrial known as kepler 22b. Only the winner and their line can survive.

Intrigued? Let’s go on….

Who are the 12 people who have to “play” Endgame?

Aisling Kopp

The Player of the La Tène Line, from New York, the United States. She is extremely well-trained in the skills required for Endgame, but is ambivalent about Endgame itself. She believes that the cycle of Endgame might be able to be stopped. However, she is not committed enough to stopping it.
Meet Aisling here:

Alice Ulapala

The Player of the Koori Line, from Coffin Bay, Australia. Her actions are guided by a strong moral compass, and she believes Endgame is a cruel and pointless joke of the universe. She doesn’t make alliances but she does help out Players she considers to be good people.

An Liu

The Player of the Shang Line from Xi’an, China. His training for Endgame involved torture and abuse, an experience that has scarred him both physically and psychologically. He wants to kill all the Players and destroy Endgame for what it has done to him. He’s not much for love, that is, until one of the other Players comes into his life. But we won’t spoil it for you.

Baitsakhan

The Player of the Donghu Line, from the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. He is the youngest player, and has been trained to take pleasure in killing. He uses torture to extract clues from other Players and will do anything to win Endgame. He partners with Maccabee Adlai of the Nabatean Line out of convenience, but will have no qualms about killing him when their partnership is no longer useful.

Maccabee Adlai

The Player of the Nabatean Line, from Warsaw, Poland. He is charming but ruthless, and has no qualms with murder. He believes wholeheartedly in Endgame, and will try to win no matter the cost. He’s the one who partners with Baitsakhan, also out of convenience, but believes that he will be able to dispatch him easily when the partnership is no longer of use to him. It’s obviously not an alliance built on friendship and loyalty.

Chiyoko Takeda

The Player of the Mu Line, from Naha, Japan. She comes from a Line that reveres Endgame, and is guided by a code of honor, taking no pleasure in killing and only doing so if necessary. She prefers to be patient and observe events than to engage in a confrontation. She is also mute, and extremely stealthy. Her relationship with one of the other players is surprising, but also sort of cute in its own weird and sadistic way.

Hilal Ibn Isa al-Salt:

The Player of the Aksumite Line, from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was trained for Endgame within the Christian church, and believes in the power of love and humanity. Although he is an able warrior, he does not seek confrontation due to his religious beliefs, and this prevents him from taking action when he discovers the truth about Endgame – of course, you’ll have to read the books to find out what that is.

Jago Tlaloc

The Player of the Olmec Line, from Juliaca, Peru. He is nicknamed ‘Feo’, meaning ugly, because of his scarred face. He is confident and loyal, and demonstrates this in his partnership with Sarah Alopay.

Sarah Alopay

The Player of the Cahokian Line, from Omaha, Nebraska, United States. She hates the fact that Endgame exists at all, but is determined to win in order to save the people she loves. She teams up with Jago Tlaloc at the beginning of Endgame, in more ways than one. Bow chicka wow wow.
Here’s a little glimpse into Sarah and Jago’s situation:

Kala Mozami

The Player of the Sumerian Line, from Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. She is also known as 5SIGMA. Kala is arrogantly confident and cruel, willing to do anything to win Endgame. This ends up working against her when she is caught and killed by Baitsakhan and Maccabee pretty early on.

Marcus Loxias Megalos

The Player of the Minoan Line, from Istanbul, Turkey. He is over-confident in his own abilities and is eager for Endgame to begin. He is the first Player to be killed, dying at the hands of An Liu at the Calling. Geez dude, act like you’ve been here before.

Shari Chopra

The Player of the Harrapan Line, from Gangtok, India. She is a mother and a wife, and dislikes violence. She is captured by Baitsakhan, and endures his torture through the enormous mental resilience she has been trained to have that allows her to retreat within her own mind for protection. She discovers that her daughter Alice is the Sky Key, and that she is the Gatekeeper to continuing Endgame. Harsh life.
Meet Shari here:

kepler 22b:

Who is he? Or um, it? The name of the extra-terrestrial who gives the Players their instructions for Endgame. It is also the name of a planet located about 600 light years from Earth within the Cygnus constellation. It was the first planet that humans discovered that orbits within the habitable zone of a star similar to our own Sun, and thus has the potential to sustain life.

If you read this whole blog post, we’re impressed. You are definitely ready to start reading.
